Caln Township Visit to Calne, 2007

This year is the 25th Anniversary of our twinning with Caln, Pennsylvania.
It is also the 325th anniversary of Calne emigrants arriving in Pennsylvania.

A party of Twinners from Caln Township visited Calne over the period
16th - 20th September.

The Programme included

Day Activity
Sunday

A Quarter Peal of Bells then

A Mayoral Procession followed by an

Evening service at St. Mary's Parish Church.
Monday

Welcome (by Mayor & others) reception at Calne Heritage Centre/Center.

Later Tour of Calne;

Visit to Wilton Windmill etc.

Tuesday

Coffee at Penn Court.

Lunch at Bowood House Golf Club.

Tour of Bowood House & Gardens.

Wednesday Day spent with hosts.
Thursday

Visit to Old Sarum and

New (~1220) Cathedral.

Social Evening at Marden House.
